The Woodstock Food Pantry serves our clients Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9 AM until 3 PM. During our open hours, volunteers serve our clients who choose to visit the Woodstock Food Pantry.
We are always looking for caring individuals who are interested in helping the Woodstock Food Pantry. If you are interested in volunteering, please call the Woodstock Food Pantry at 815-337-0375 during the hours we are open.
Front End volunteers:
The Woodstock Food Pantry currently utilizes about 50 volunteers in addition to the board members and officers. Volunteers usually serve once each month for one 3.5 -hour time slot (8:30 – 12 or 12 – 3:30). Basic training is provided for all new volunteers.
Typically, two volunteers will work together for a 3.5-hour shift. The volunteers will verify client eligibility (based on identification and address) and distribute available foods based on the client’s selections.
Clients are provided with a “menu” of available foods in several categories and given the opportunity to choose what they want based on family size and WFP guidelines on provided menus.
